From Germany to Austria: The Rise of a Just Chatting Phenomenon
When Nijan first started streaming on Twitch back in May 2018, she probably didn't expect to build one of the most engaged communities in the Just Chatting category. Now 23 years old and going by Mellooow_ on the platform, this German-born streamer has carved out a unique space for herself, attracting over 466,000 followers who tune in for her authentic, conversational streams.
A Master of the Just Chatting Genre
What sets Mellooow_ apart in the crowded Just Chatting category is her genuine approach to connecting with viewers. She's currently ranked #279 in the category, which is no small feat considering the thousands of streamers competing for attention. Her streams feel less like performances and more like hanging out with a friend who happens to speak three languages fluently. Whether she's chatting in German, Turkish, or English, her multilingual abilities help her connect with a diverse international audience.
Life Behind the Stream
Beyond the camera, Nijan lives in Austria after moving from Germany, sharing her space with two British Shorthair cats in that distinctive lilac color that any cat lover would recognize. At 5'5" with an April 6th birthday, she's refreshingly open about the personal details that help her community feel connected to her as a person, not just an entertainer. She prefers to be called "Nini" by her viewers, which speaks to the intimate, friendly atmosphere she cultivates during her streams.
Building Community Through Consistency
The numbers tell a compelling story of dedication. In the past month alone, Mellooow_ streamed for over 700 hours, generating nearly 100,000 hours of watch time with an average of 138 viewers per stream. Her peak of 1,052 viewers during that period shows she can still pull significant audiences when the moment strikes. Even more impressive is her all-time peak of 13,700 viewers, achieved in February 2025, proving that authentic content can still break through in today's saturated streaming landscape.
Navigating the Challenges of Content Creation
Like many prominent streamers, Mellooow_ has faced her share of platform challenges, including several temporary bans between 2023 and 2024 ranging from one hour to seven days. These setbacks haven't dampened her commitment to streaming, and her Twitch Partner status reflects both her consistency and the platform's recognition of her value to the community. Her ability to bounce back from these challenges while maintaining her audience's loyalty demonstrates the genuine connection she's built with her followers over the years.
